PRESS RELEASE
Rights aren't negotiable. Arcigay Salerno responds to Futuro Nazionale's positions.

The positions expressed by General Roberto Vannacci and the Futuro Nazionale movement on the rights of LGBTQIA+ people outline a vision of society incompatible with the principles of equality and dignity enshrined in the Constitution.
The Arcigay Salerno Territorial Committee cannot remain silent in the face of a narrative that continues to treat LGBTQIA+ people as a problem rather than as citizens with equal rights.
Behind certain words there is a real risk of fueling a climate of hostility.".
“Transgender people deserve respect and protection, not propaganda. Rainbow families have existed for over twenty years, and their children deserve protection.
Educating about respect is not indoctrination: it is prevention against violence and discrimination,” declares Emanuele Avagliano, President of Arcigay Salerno.
“Over the past few decades, since 1993 to be precise, thanks in part to our provincial committee, we have built a more open and aware community in Salerno. This is a civic heritage that we will not allow to be squandered. For this reason, we will continue to fight, using the tools of democracy and public debate, any attempt to undermine rights.
In Salerno, we will not retreat: we will firmly oppose ideas and proposals that we deem detrimental to dignity and inclusion. As long as we have a voice, we will defend the work we've built over the years and continue to promote a culture of rights for all.”
