SALERNO PRIDE 2026: THE 2026 EDITION OF SALERNOPRIDE "WITHOUT EXCLUSION OF BODIES" IS PRESENTED“

The press conference to present Salerno Pride 2026 took place this morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Sala del Gonfalone of the Palazzo di Città. This year's slogan is "Without Exclusion.".

The Mayor of Salerno took part in the conference Vincenzo De Luca, the Councilor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Salerno Paola De Roberto, The Councilor of the Municipality of Salerno Fabio Polverino and the Emanuele Avagliano, President of Arcigay Salerno and Spokesperson for Salerno Pride, together with representatives of the member associations and the organizing committee.

During the meeting, the political demands of the demonstration, the route of the procession, and the related initiatives were outlined. City and provincial institutions expressed their support for the Pride and its political demands, announcing the display of the rainbow flag on the City Hall and the Provincial Government headquarters for the entire weekend. This symbolic and political gesture demonstrates their commitment to combating discrimination and promoting civil rights.

During the meeting, the Mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo De Luca, expressed full agreement with the contents of the Salerno Pride political document, sharing its principles and goals. In his speech, he reiterated the municipal administration's commitment to the issues of rights, inclusion, and the fight against all forms of discrimination, emphasizing that institutions must be and remain secular, guaranteeing equal dignity and protection to all people, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other personal condition. In his speech, Emanuele Avagliano, president of Arcigay Salerno and spokesperson for Salerno Pride, stated: "Salerno Pride continues to be a collective space for democratic participation. With the slogan 'Without Exclusion of Bodies', we want to clearly state that no one should be left on the sidelines. Over one hundred organizations, including associations, collectives, movements, parties, and trade unions, have signed our political platform: this speaks to a broad, diverse, and determined community." Avagliano also highlighted the importance of the institutional decision to display the rainbow flag, calling it an important sign of public recognition of the struggle for rights and against all forms of discrimination. During the press conference, the parade route, guests, and the patroness of the 2026 edition were presented., Vladimir Luxuria, writer, LGBTQIA+ rights activist and former parliamentarian, who has been committed for years to promoting inclusion and combating discrimination.

The official commercial for Salerno Pride 2026 was also presented, which will accompany the event's communication until Saturday.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4th. The gathering is scheduled for 6:00 PM in Piazza Ferrovia, on the Corso Vittorio Emanuele side. The procession will wind through the city's main streets, concluding in the small square in front of the Pasolini Theater, on the waterfront side. There, the closing party will feature speeches from the associations, collectives, movements, trade unions, and political parties that have joined and endorsed the Pride platform. "With over one hundred endorsements to its political platform, Salerno Pride has confirmed itself as one of the most attended civic demonstrations in the area and one of the most significant events in the national landscape of mobilizations for rights, equality, and social justice," concludes Avagliano. The day will end at the Sea Garden Club, where the official party will be held.
