It took place on Saturday June 13th the Arcigay Tralaltro Padova APS Congress at the Arcella Neighborhood House, During this meeting, the association renewed its board of directors and outlined its program for the new term, in preparation for a phase of political revitalization in the area. This event takes on a special significance: over the next few years, the association will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary, confirming its position as the longest-running LGBTQIA+ organization in Padua and a consolidated point of reference for the community.
The association's leadership is confirmed Mirco Costacurta, in the role of president, and Danilo Stocchino, in that of vice president, supported by the new members of the board Alessia Raio, Andrea Montanaro, and Mattia Cortese Galdiolo. Together, they are called to continue a journey aimed at strengthening the association's cultural and political role. "We want culture to be a political tool, capable of building communities and opening spaces. In a Europe where hostility towards LGBTQIA+ people is once again making itself felt," emphasizes President Mirco Costacurta, "Padua must be a welcoming stronghold: a place where we don't retreat, but continue to build connections, bringing new experiences and energy to the city.".
Among the priorities of the new mandate is a decisive investment in the cultural dimension, understood as a fully-fledged political arena: a blend of artistic languages, scientific knowledge, and civic participation capable of multiplying opportunities for public debate. The association intends to act as a point of reference and the front line of cultural resistance in the region, capable of responding with awareness and participation.
Building on the co-design experience gained over the years with Padova Pride, the association also aims to strengthen its network with other associations and community spaces that, day after day, contribute to making Padua a truly inclusive city.
Finally, particular attention will be dedicated to growing the membership base, with the aim of making the association an increasingly open and representative reality, capable of involving new people and new energies, keeping the community and its needs at the centre.
