Today the city is preparing to experience the great day of the procession of Naples Pride, an event that marks the culmination of this extraordinary thirtieth anniversary edition. The grand parade comes as the culmination of nine intense days of the Pride Park, which concluded yesterday with a major international conference. This moment of great political and social significance saw the Neapolitan Pride engage in dialogue with the Pride events of Beirut, Odessa, Turin, and southern Italy, enriched by the fundamental contribution of ILGA World.
The heart of this demonstration is the defense of the values of the Constitution: solidarity, freedom, and social justice. We will march for peace, against all wars and against all forms of hatred and violence., dedicating this day to Mirko and Kety, whose lives have been shattered by the blind and brutal violence of homophobia. We want to forcefully reiterate a fundamental concept: Politics that fuel hatred only generate suffering and pain. Today Naples responds to all this with a great and peaceful embrace of civilization.
The concentration for the beginning of the parade It is set for the hours 3:00 PM at Porta Capuana. From there, the procession will wind through the city's iconic locations, crossing the historic Forcella neighborhood, continuing along Corso Umberto and Via Toledo, transforming the streets into a river of colors, rights, and demands. Arrival is expected around 12:00 p.m. 7:00 PM at Piazza Dante, which will become the great stage for the final phase of the event.
Once arrived in Piazza Dante, the evening will open with the necessary speeches by the associations and political representatives, to then leave room for the awaited star show hosted by Diego De Flora. The following will take the stage the godmothers3 and this year's special guests: Maria Grazia Cucinotta, BigMama, Leo Gassmann, and the iconic Tarantina. A strong institutional presence is also expected at the parade, with the participation of the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, President Roberto Fico, and numerous other institutional figures, parliamentarians, and prominent figures from the world of culture and entertainment.
The turnout for this thirtieth anniversary edition is proving to be extraordinary, involving the entire citizenry. To celebrate the occasion, at the request of Napoli Pride, the City of Naples has decided to illuminate the monumental colonnade of Piazza del Plebiscito with the colors of the rainbow for three consecutive days. The evocative rainbow illuminations began yesterday and will continue throughout today and tomorrow.
Naples Pride is proudly organized by the Naples Pride Committee, a solid and diverse organization composed of Antinoo Arcigay Naples, the Trans Naples Association, ALFI le Maree, Pride Vesuvio, and the Campania Rainbow Coordination Committee. The event boasts the crucial co-organization of the City of Naples and is largely supported by the Moral Patronage of the Campania Region, the Metropolitan City of Naples, and the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI).
