Napoli Pride ad, the unruly bingo of the women celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the rainbow parade.

A tribute to Campanian tradition to commemorate LGBTQIA+ struggles ahead of Pride Day on June 27th.

The official advert is online from today of the Naples Pride 2026 which launches the claim of this thirtieth edition: “Freedom cannot be corrected’. The protagonists of the scene are the Females of Partenope, which through the historical impolite bingo, make an ironic and bitter reflection on the denied rights of the LGBTQIA+ movement. From the number 38 which in 'La Smorfia Napoletana' represents the beatings up to 30, a tribute to the first Pride of Southern Italy and the third at national level after Rome (1994) and Bologna (1995). In the video of Francesca Saccenti And Vincenzo De Carluccio – born from an idea of Ileana Capurro president of Atn (Transsexual Association Naples) and the activist Loredana Rossi – the main role of 'fishing' the bingo numbers from the 'panariello' falls to the ninety-year-old Tarantina, iconic figure of the Spanish Quarters, protagonist of the Roman dolce vita and patroness of the thirtieth edition of Napoli Pride. Against the backdrop of a metropolis in the shadow of Vesuvius, the commercial was filmed in an apartment Giuseppe Piazzi Steps: in the alley, flown over by the drone, in 1963 the Oscar-winning director Vittorio De Sica sets some sequences of the film in three episodes '‘Yesterday, today, tomorrow’'. Starring Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren, in the role of Adelina Sbaratti, a cigarette smuggler of Fork who resorts to a long series of pregnancies to avoid prison. The cast includes the activist Loredana Rossi, the drag performers Last And Gold Queen, the musician Eva Benincasa And Alessandro Santarsiero, while the graphics were created by Luciano Correale. The video transforms into an evocative image of trans freedom and visibility. A song of love and tradition that transcends time, challenges stereotypes, and reclaims dignity and a sense of belonging, set to the tune of Raffaele Viviani's song '‘Little girl’', made famous by the artist Angela Luce, who passed away in February this year, and played by Loredana Rossi. The official commercial, presented during the Napoli Pride press conference in Hall of the Barons of the Maschio Angioino – immediately after the awarding of the honorary citizenship from Naples to Franco Grillini – symbolically marks the beginning of the journey that will take us to Naples Pride 2026, which will be held on Saturday June 27 in an open, inclusive, and intersectional square, where all bodies and identities have the right to exist and march with pride.
