Pride Wave, three marches today in Savona, Brescia, and Portici. Piazzoni (Arcigay): "The wave of femicides and domestic violence requires us to deeply reflect on the state of the country."«

September 5, 2026 – Onda Pride 2026, the major national mobilization in support of LGBTQIA+ rights organized by Arcigay and other local and national associations, continues with three events today spanning the country from north to south. Savona, Brescia, and Portici are hosting three marches on a day that combines the demand for rights with the denunciation of the violent trend sweeping across the country. Savona Pride meets at 2:30 pm at the Parco delle Nazioni Unite, Brescia Pride gathers at 3:30 pm at Campo Marte, and Vesuvio Pride in Portici meets at 4 pm at the "Cirotto" beach in Parco a Mare.

«"Today we are in Savona, Brescia, and Portici," says Gabriele Piazzoni, Secretary General of Arcigay, "three places that come together to demand rights, to stand together, to resist. But while our flags wave, in this country the news reports are a war bulletin. Femicides, murder-suicides, domestic violence. A wave that shows no sign of abating. In the last week alone, we have witnessed yet another trail of blood: women killed by husbands, partners, ex-partners. Girls who didn't have time to ask for help. Families destroyed. This is not a marginal phenomenon: it is a social scourge that requires us to deeply reflect on the state of our country and our society. A country where, despite the polite words and ritual commemorations, the numbers continue to rise. A country where patriarchal and chauvinistic culture—the same culture that decides who has the right to exist and who doesn't—is fueled by those, like Vannacci and his "Mediterranean patriarchy" project, who want to transform it into a political agenda. This is why, today more than ever, we take to the streets. To say that this violence is not inevitable. To say that the culture of domination and possession must be dismantled piece by piece. To demand that institutions do their part. Pride is not just a celebration, it is a cry of alarm and a promise that we will not bow our heads,“ concludes Piazzoni.
