It is a social promotion association (APS) registered in the national register of APS with number 115 (L. 383\/2000).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 1985, she has fought for equal rights, self-determination, the overcoming of stereotypes and prejudices against LGBTI people, and against all forms of discrimination.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>It operates throughout the country through its 74 territorial committees and member associations<\/strong>, thanks to the participation of thousands of volunteers and activists, both LGBTI and non-LGBTI people, who are mobilized to give concreteness to the objectives and activities of the association both at the local and national level. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Association:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>acts directly at the national level as an initiative body<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> political and institutional and <\/span><b>coordinates the dissemination of campaigns, initiatives and programs throughout the country <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">regarding the promotion and defense of the rights of LGBTQIA+ people; ;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>supports the growth, development and diffusion of member associations<\/b> <b>who operate locally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including through training activities, the exchange of best practices, and the dissemination of resources within national initiatives, projects, and programs that can be adapted to the local level.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The association is independent<\/strong> from any government, party or political or religious ideology. <strong>It is financed thanks to membership fees<\/strong> of the members, both male and female,\u00a0<strong>to private donations<\/strong> (individuals, foundations, companies, etc.) and <strong>funds attracted through projects<\/strong> which respond to calls for tenders from public and private entities. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcigay.it\/en\/materiali\/trasparenza\/\">Operate with maximum transparency<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0And <strong><a name=\"VISION\"><\/a> invests most of its resources in carrying out concrete activities<\/strong> and only a minimal part in the functioning of the structure.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay collaborates with Italian and international non-governmental organizations and is a liaison with major local, national, and international institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f30e61;\"><b>OUR VISION<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay believes in a <strong>secular, inclusive and open society based on solidarity and equality<\/strong>, a society in which human and civil rights are recognized, promoted and guaranteed and <strong>gay, lesbian, bisexual and bi+, trans* and non-binary, queer, intersex and asexual people are free to be themselves<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f30e61;\"><b>OUR MISSION, OUR GOALS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay promotes and protects equal rights, affirms principles and relationships of solidarity, and fights against all forms of violence, discrimination, and violations of the human and civil rights of LGBTQIA+ people. It fights for political, regulatory, cultural, and social change through<\/span><b> lobbying, advocacy, awareness-raising and information campaigns, contribution to public sector policies, initiatives, programs, projects, presence in public debate, and capacity for aggregation and mobilization.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More specifically, Arcigay aims to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>obtain equal and full rights<\/strong> for LGBTQIA+ people, including in particular equal marriage and the recognition of LGBTQIA+ parenthood;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>obtain legal protection<\/strong> against violence and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people <strong>and the definitive consolidation of a non-homophobic, non-bi-transphobic and non-sexist society and culture<\/strong>;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"ORGANIZZAZIONE\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>promote the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community and people<\/strong> directly through local services or indirectly through social and cultural change.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f30e61;\"><b>ORGANIZATION AND OPERATION OF THE ASSOCIATION<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay is a national organization comprised of 74 member associations and local committees, which work together to promote and disseminate the association&#039;s values throughout the region, implementing them through activities and initiatives for the LGBTQIA+ community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bodies provided for by the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcigay.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/All-D-Statuto-Arcigay-2023.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Association statute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0they are: the Congress, the General Secretary and the President, the National Council and the National Secretariat, the Deputy Vice President and the Vice President, the Board of Auditors and Guarantors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Congress, made up of territorial delegates, elects the Secretary General (the Association&#039;s political and legal representative), the President, and the National Council every 4 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Council, composed of delegates from member associations, defines and updates the association&#039;s policy during the National Secretary&#039;s term. It is the highest decision-making body regarding association policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Secretariat coordinates the association&#039;s activities. It is elected upon the recommendation of the Secretary General, who chairs and is responsible for it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay, as a national association, is committed to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinate national political, institutional and social initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promote and disseminate local initiatives and campaigns<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"DIRIGENZA\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support the creation, development and formation of local associations and committees<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure full respect and pursuit of the association&#039;s mission and vision<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The association&#039;s management is currently composed of: <\/span><br \/>\n<a name=\"PIAZZONI\"><\/a><b>ABOUT US<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay is the main Italian LGBTI non-for-profit organization, the largest in terms of number of volunteers and activists throughout Italy. Formally, it is an association for social promotion (APS) registered in the relevant national register with number 115 (Law 383\/2000). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 1985 Arcigay fights for equality, self-determination, and against stereotypes and prejudice towards LGBTI people, as well as against any form of discrimination. We operate all over Italy through our 74 local committees and affiliated associations. We can count on thousands of LGBTI as well as straight volunteers and activists who work passionately towards reaching our goals, while promoting our activities both locally and nationally. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the national level, Arcigay acts as an advocacy player, politically and institutionally, coordinating campaign efforts, initiatives and programs aiming at the promotion and protection of LGBTI rights;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the local level, Arcigay supports its committees and affiliated associations by promoting their growth and development, offering training and education events to their members, creating opportunities to exchange best practices and resources among them, acting within a broader framework of national initiatives, projects and programs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our organization operates independently from any government, political party, ideology or religion. Financially, our support comes from our members through their annual membership fees, from private parties through donations, and from grants and funds obtained by private and public institutions by participating in public calls. Arcigay operates with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcigay.it\/en\/strumenti\/trasparenza\/\">transparency<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and invests the great majority of its resources on the realization of actual projects. Only a minor part of its funds is invested in its structural administration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"VISION\"><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay currently collaborates with several Italian and foreign NGOs, as well as with the main local, national and international institutions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>OUR VISION<\/b><\/p>\n<p>At Arcigay we believe in a secular, inclusive and open society based on solidarity and equality, a society in which human and civil rights are recognized, promoted and guaranteed; a society where gay, lesbian, bisexual and bi+, trans* and non-binary, intersex and asexual people are free to be themselves.<\/p>\n<p><b>OUR MISSION, OUR GOALS <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our mission at Arcigay is to promote and protect equal rights, to reaffirm the principles and relationships of solidarity, to fight against all forms of violence, discrimination and violation of human and civil rights of LGBTI people. We fight for political, legislative, cultural and social change through actions of <\/span><b>lobbying, advocacy, awareness and information campaigning, by supporting public policies, initiatives, programs, projects, by making our voice heard in the public opinion and by our ability to reach, bring together and gather mass demonstrations.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In particular, Arcigay aims at:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">obtaining equal and full rights for LGBTI people, including equal marriage rights and the recognition of LGBTI parenting rights;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">obtaining legislation to protect LGBTI people from violence and discrimination, while striving for a society and culture where homo-bi-transphobic and sexist acts are no longer tolerated;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a name=\"ORGANIZZAZIONE\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promoting the well-being of the LGBTI community through local-based services, and indirectly through social and cultural change.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>HOW THE ASSOCIATION WORKS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arcigay is a national reality and consists of 74 affiliated associations and local committees. Together, we collaborate to promote and convey our values all over the country, turning them into actual activities and initiatives in favor of the LGBTI community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As established in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcigay.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/statuto-arcigay-2015.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">association statute<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Arcigay is organized into the following bodies: General Congress, National General Secretary, National President, National Council, National Board, Deputy Chairman, Vice-President, Accounting Auditors&#039; Board and Controllers&#039; Board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The General Congress is composed by delegates coming from all the represented territories. It meets every four years to elect the National General Secretary (who acts as the political and legal Director of the Association), the President and the National Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Council, composed by delegates of member associations, defines and establishes policy lines as implemented by the National Secretary. This is the highest decision-making body when it comes to association policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Board coordinates the activities of the association.
