Marta's story: from homophobia in her family and at work to "no-gender" at school<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Homo-bi-transphobia has always manifested itself, even in our country, as violence that is overt or in the form of many small and large events that occur in a subtle and constant way in everyday life<\/strong> of LGBTI people, in the family, at school, at work, on the street, and in many other contexts. But in the last year, homo-bi-transphobia has taken an organized form in the so-called anti-gender movement.<\/a><\/p>\n

Marta was kicked out of her home at 15 because she was a lesbian.<\/strong>Her parents, whose father was then a high school principal, didn't accept her homosexuality. She risked missing a year of school, and was able to return home after a year of "exile" only by pretending she was no longer a lesbian and hiding her partner to convince them she was "cured." This was 20 years ago.\u00a0Today Marta is a happily openly lesbian girl.<\/strong> Two years ago, she suffered and reported discriminatory actions at work from colleagues who resented the fact that Marta makes no secret of her homosexuality and that she is an LGBTI activist.\u00a0Marta has decided to<\/strong> get involved to help others<\/strong> and prevent others from suffering as she did: today she is an activist for the local Arcigay committee, and works in education in schools. On the contrary, his father is directly involved in the so-called "NO-GENDER" movement\u201c<\/strong> and works, as a former high school principal, to ensure that schools close their doors to educational activities against homo-bi-transphobia and homophobic bullying: the homophobia of 20 years earlier, when Marta was kicked out of her home, has today found its own organised, political, cultural and social space in the no-gender (or anti-gender) movement, a galaxy of groups and individuals that fights\u00a0actively promotes every form of inclusion and openness of society and institutions towards LGBTI people<\/strong>\u00a0and that\u00a0<\/strong>It brings back to the fore sexist and homophobic worldviews that were thought to be outdated.<\/p>\n
