[:en]TOWARDS A RESPONSIBLE SEXUALITY[:]

[:en]December 1st is AIDS Day celebrated worldwide, an opportunity to raise awareness about the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and break down the stigma that particularly affects people with HIV.
This year, Arcigay Ragusa dedicated a day to the topic of sexually transmitted diseases by organizing a conference entitled "Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Towards Responsible Sexuality," in collaboration with Asp 7 Ragusa.
The meeting was held in Ragusa at the Centro Commerciale Culturale, and featured Dr. Daniela Bocchieri, Head of the Education and Health Promotion Unit at ASP Ragusa, and Dr. Antonio Davì, Director of the Infectious Diseases Unit in Modica, who have been working in the field at various levels for years. The meeting, moderated by Luciana Licitra, also included Elvira Adamo, who presented the "Lambda Project," a support service for LGBTQIA+ people and their families in Ragusa, and Simone Digrandi, Youth Policy Delegate for the Municipality of Ragusa, creator of "Informa Giovani," a physical and virtual support service managed by the Ragusa Youth Council.
The conference is a starting point, not an end point. It marks the beginning of a network of different organizations, already working together and continuing to work together, to bring information where it's most needed: to young people, families, and schools.
The response we received from the municipalities of Ragusa, Vittoria, Modica, Comiso, Scicli, Santa Croce Camerina, Ispica, Pozzallo, and Monterosso Almo, who sponsored the event and participated in the conference, further strengthens our vision of a network aimed at informing and preventing sexually transmitted infections and diseases, but also at promoting responsible sexuality.
Rapid HIV tests were available during the event: another step Arcigay is working on to regularly offer a service to prevent and combat the spread of HIV.
