The Arcigay Valle d'Aosta Queer VdA Association is happy to announce the events of the project Pride not prejudice, which will take place between September and November 2021 at the Cittadella dei Giovani in Aosta.
The project Pride not prejudice, organized in collaboration with the’Dora Association – Women in Aosta Valley, was created thanks to the 2021 Social Projects call for proposals CSV VdA ODV, in the implementation of the operational plan of the program agreement between Aosta Valley Region And Ministry of Labor and Social Policies to support the performance of activities of general interest by non-profit organizations and non-profit organizations (APS) in implementation of Article 72 of the Third Sector Code.
The project Pride not prejudice will begin on Saturday 4th September, at 9pm, with the screening of the film The nude pink Of John Coda. The film is inspired by the life of Pierre Seel, a homosexual deported to Nazi concentration camps. The director will also be attending the evening.
On Sunday 5th September, at 9pm, you can attend the screening of the film The bitter years, by Andrea Adriatico, which tells the life and activism of Mario Mieli, one of the most significant personalities of the Italian LGBTQ+ movement, which celebrates its first 50 years this year.
From 13th to 19th September it will be possible to visit In my peace, a photography project that brings together four artists, four completely different personalities but with a common goal: to tell the stories of largely unknown people and places, focusing on the LGBTQ+ migrant community. The project, born in collaboration with the Association Arcigay Rainbow Vercelli Valsesia, includes the works of Salvatore Giò Gagliano, Giulia Lungo, Simone Manzocchi And Franco Marino. The exhibition opening will be held on Monday, September 13th at 8:00 PM.
Also on September 13th, at 9pm, the two curators, Giorgio Ghibaudo And Gianluca Polastri, will present the book Queerphobia (D editore): a text that, through stories, poems, and images, aims to describe the phenomenon of homophobia and transphobia and what it means for the lives of those who are victims of this increasingly uncontrollable hatred.
The absolute protagonists will be the weekend of 18th and 19th September Nina's Drag Queens. We will have in Aosta Lorenzo Piccolo, in art Dora, And Alessio Calciolari, in art Donated.
Little transformation exercises! It will be a Drag workshop, which will take place in two lessons, the first on Saturday 18 September from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and the second on Sunday 19 September from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Saturday 18th September will close at 10pm with the Kick-ass night!, a DJ set and performance evening, while on Sunday 19th September, at 3.30pm, Nina's Drag Queens will read stories for children, in the event entitled Rainbow Stories.
The project will end in November when, on a date yet to be defined, the sociolinguist will be present Vera Gheno, which will discuss inclusive language, schwa, and the importance of considering language and speech as indispensable tools for building a more inclusive and respectful society.
