SAY NO TO STATE VIOLENCE ON THE LIVES OF LGBTQIA+ PEOPLE
In an ever changing political climate morè marked by discrimination and hate speech, we firmly denounce the Italian Government's hostile attitude towards LGBTQIA+ people.
From censorship in schools of education to’affectivitỳ and to the differences to prevent episodes of violence and bullying, to the blocking of rights for same-sex families; from the systematic attack on trans* and non-binary people to the lack of protection against attacks related to sexual orientation or’identitỳ of people's gender, we are witnessing a dangerous regression in civil rights.
This policy of exclusion and silence undermines the dignitỳ and the safety of thousands of people, from schools to workplaces, from families to every other area where their lives take place.
We wanted to focus attention on the merciless data emerging from the latest research by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights on the situation in our country regarding the condition of LGBTQIA+ people.
The data makes it clear that what we are living in Italy it's not just a lack of protection: it's hostilitỳ politics and institutional violence.
We don't agree! We demand respect, rights, and a societỳ in which all the identitymay they live free and safe. NWe will not remain silent. Our lives exist and endure.
