The Arcigay Bat Association was born under the symbol of two wings. Wings represented by the seven colors of peace, the colors of the rainbow, enclosed in a face familiar to virtually everyone, the emblem of Gotham City's hero: Batman.
The symbolic power of the Arcigay Bat flag, therefore, finds its strength in its wings, which have always been a symbol of freedom, in the colors of peace and hoped-for tolerance, and in the figure of Batman, a symbol of rebirth. The comic book has been the subject of academic study since 1954 by psychologist Fredric Wertham, who highlighted several references to the homosexual sphere.
The Arcigay Bat which, as described on the Facebook page, takes care of and organizes "the LGBT movement in the province of Barletta Andria Trani It is an association founded by some young people from the Bat area with the aim of helping citizens understand what homosexuality is in all its facets, and of promoting civil rights and any cultural and recreational event.
The association has decided to use one of the world's most popular social networks to reach out to the world and lay the foundation for a service designed to provide support to all those who, unfortunately, even in the third millennium, are victims of discrimination or misunderstanding due to their sexuality. Arcigay Bat, launched last Wednesday and now 224 members, has published a post informing those who might be interested that they will soon be launching "a counseling service for all those struggling with their homosexuality, all in full respect of anonymity and privacy.".
