Support for the Paddy Power and Fondazione Cannavò campaign, in collaboration with Arcigay and ArciLesbica, is growing rapidly.

Bologna, February 23, 2014 – The rainbow shoelaces of the anti-homophobia campaign launched by Paddy Power and the Cannavò Foundation, together with the associations Arcigay and ArciLesbica, have also made inroads at the San Siro Stadium in Milan. #Allacciamoli is the hashtag behind the campaign, while on the pitches, many athletes have accepted the invitation to add that rainbow touch to their shoes, demonstrating their commitment to the front lines of the fight against discrimination. Rainbow shoelaces, therefore, are on the feet of Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin, as well as on the shoes of Davide Moscardelli, who yesterday played at the Dall'Ara stadium in the Bologna-Roma match. Others who have signed up include Torino, Cagliari, Juve Stabia, Spezia Calcio, Pistoiese, and Pietraligure. Sign-ups are also coming in from other sports, such as basketball, where Dinamo Sassari, the women's Geas team, Pistoia Basketball, Veroli Basketball of Verona, and Orlandina Basketball of the Lega Gold have signed up. Among the well-known sports stars who have signed up are foil fencer Benedetta Durando, MotoGP rider Andrea Iannone, Olympic rowing medalists Simone Raineri and Giacomo Garlassa, and former Italian volleyball player Andrea Lucchetta. "These are important first signs," commented Arcigay President Flavio Romani, "for which we thank those who have signed up. Sport needs to be a place where the fight against discrimination is affirmed; it's in its DNA. Therefore, we ask champions of every discipline and at every level to join the campaign and add our rainbow lanyards to their medal collection.".
