Bologna, July 1, 2014 – “An abominable celebration, which distinguishes between first-class children, those with two heterosexual parents, and second-class children, from homosexual and single-parent families. A barbaric act, which makes the youngest children the target of unprecedented ideological retaliation”: Flavio Romani, president of Arcigay, harshly rejects the motion approved by the Lombardy Regional Council, which calls on the government to establish a celebration of the “natural family”. “While Berlusconi puts on a liberal mask, his cronies are attacking those who already suffer daily discrimination, creating new inequalities rather than addressing existing ones. The hope,” Romani concludes, “is that families, all families, will reject this initiative, demanding the right to secular and inclusive educational models that safeguard the right to happiness of boys and girls.”.
