Bologna, August 4, 2024 – Before the August break, another rainbow event in the Italian streets: today the Rimini Summer Pride, Onda Pride procession, the large demonstration in support of the rights of LGBTQI+ people organized by Arcigay and other local and national associations. The meeting point is at 5pm on the seafront between Piazza Marvelli and the Bounty restaurant, near beach resorts 37/38..
“We are coming to this demonstration with a lot of anger and indignation: the hatred of the right has irreparably tarnished even the Olympics”: he declared. He continues: "The controversy surrounding Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, with a veritable mystifying campaign about her sexual identity, has shamed Italy before the entire world. What we've read in recent days contains all the worst we could have expected: transphobia, misogyny, racism. With our Prime Minister and her ministers serving the Russian far-right lobby in spreading fake news, while our country struggles. We are ashamed of the ignorance and violence of those who sit in our institutions. Today, our pride in the streets of Rimini is a protest and a redemption for the entire country," Piazzoni concludes.
