The first Italian Dyke March has been confirmed for Rome on April 26th, starting from Viale Agosta.
The event celebrating lesbian visibility will begin at 4:00 PM on Viale Agosta. The organizers: "When our right to demonstrate is taken away, we must fight back."“

Rome, April 24, 2025 The first Italian Dyke March will be held in Rome on Saturday, April 26th. Organized by over 50 lesbian, trans-feminist, queer, and allied associations, groups, and individuals, it will mark International Lesbian Visibility Day. The event coincides with the 4th European Lesbian Conference (April 23-26), organized by ELC – EuroCentralAsian Lesbian Community, which attracted activists from over 40 countries.

The start will no longer be from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, as initially planned, but from Viale Agosta (pedestrian zone at 4 pm, with changes compared to the initial route).

Statement from the organizers:

“The Dyke March, the organizers explain, has long been planned for International Lesbian Visibility Day on Saturday, April 26th, and will take place regardless. This is a first that has already gone down in history for the circumstances in which it will take place and for being the result of a collective process built from the bottom up, which will see lesbians take to the streets, with all their differences, declinations, and intersections (lesbians, women*, bisexual women*, queer women*, queer people, non-binary people, Lelle, Camionare, trans people, femmes and butch, etc.) to demand what is theirs.

● FIGHT AGAINST LESBOPHOBIA AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE ● FULL ACCESS TO REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS

● THE RECOGNITION OF SEXWORK AND THE VISIBILIZATION OF UNCONVENTIONAL SEXUALITIES

● FULL ACCESS TO THE RIGHT TO HEALTH

● DEMAND SEXUAL AND AFFECTIVE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS ● RESPECT FOR THE RIGHTS OF TRANSGENDER AND NON-BINARY PEOPLE ● AN END TO DISCRIMINATION FOR ALL LESBIANS

Lesbians in Italy, Europe, and around the world will make their voices heard because they want to live in an anti-fascist, anti-racist, and secular country that leaves no one behind, that recognizes and promotes the rights and self-determination of individuals and peoples, that is committed to climate justice and against all forms of oppression and marginalization. And they will do so to demonstrate that it is precisely when our right to demonstrate and express dissent is taken away that we must react by making visibility our banner.

Useful information:

Viale Agosta can be reached by:

– METRO C: Teano stop (about 8 minutes on foot from the stop)

– BUS: 542 and 548, Tor de' Schiavi/Mattirolo stop

– TRAM: 514 (diversion) Prenestina/Olevano Romano stop

The square has several benches (we recommend bringing portable chairs for those who can and need them) and support points. It has slight unevenness, but the pavement is smooth brick.

There are ramped entrances, and several refreshment stands and a supermarket line the sides of the square. For any need, the girls from the treatment group (purple handkerchiefs on their arms) will be available and equipped with first aid and decompression equipment (stim toys and earplugs). Remember to bring a water bottle to fill at the fountain in the square; let's reduce the use of plastic bottles as much as possible to protect the environment! The "Fontanelle" app is a great resource for finding the nearest "nasone"! Even without walking, it's important to make this space safe and accessible for everyone!
