Bologna, May 24, 2025 Onda Pride 2025 kicks off today with two important events: Crema Pride and Piacenza Pride, officially kicking off a packed calendar of demonstrations organized throughout Italy by Arcigay and other LGBTQIA+ rights organizations. Crema Pride will meet today at 3:00 PM in Piazza Garibaldi, while Piacenza Pride has scheduled its rally for 3:00 PM in the Giardini Margherita.
“We are launching the 2025 Pride Wave at a crucial moment in history: the recent Constitutional Court ruling removing obstacles to lesbian parenthood is a fundamental victory for civil rights. Finally, the State recognizes what reality has always told us: rainbow families exist, they love, and they raise happy sons and daughters. Today, we have one more reason to take to the streets and celebrate the battle of two tenacious mothers that has changed the country, but also to continue fighting against all forms of discrimination. The Meloni government, instead of listening to the rulings and civil society, continues to promote policies that deny rights and self-determination. But we will not stop: the Pride Wave is our peaceful and determined response to those who want to take us back,” concludes Piazzoni.
