July 5, 2025 – Onda Pride, the large-scale demonstration in support of LGBTQIA+ rights organized by Arcigay and other local and national associations, continues with seven simultaneous marches today. Starting blocks: Alba Pride, gathering in Piazza Cagnasso at 2:30 PM; Favignana Egadi Pride, departing from Largo Marina at 4:00 PM; Lodi Pride, gathering in Piazza della Vittoria at 4:00 PM; Catania Pride, gathering at 5:00 PM in Piazza Cavour; Naples Pride, meeting at 4:30 PM in Piazza Municipio; Taranto Pride, departing from Lungomare Vittorio Emanuele III at 5:30 PM; and Terni Umbria Pride, gathering in Piazzale Rivoluzione Francese at 4:30 PM.
“"The attack on a rainbow mother in Catania a few days ago," said Gabriele Piazzoni, Secretary General of Arcigay, "while she was carrying out an activity with her children is the latest episode in a spiral of unbearable violence. A man used verbal abuse and shoving to impose his traditional family model, demonstrating how the hatred sown by the Meloni government is taking root. As we take to the streets in seven cities today, we want to express our solidarity with all rainbow families: this government, with its homophobic and transphobic policies and the rhetoric of the 'natural family,' is fanning the flames of discrimination, exposing LGBTQIA+ people to daily violence. The hand that struck that mother in Catania is the same one that passes liberticidal laws in Parliament. But we respond with Pride marches: demonstrations of pride and resistance that transform the squares into spaces of freedom," concluded Piazzoni.
