The telephone lines are staffed by operators who are sensitive to empathy and listening to others, and can address the personal experiences of callers. Operators are trained to provide information and tools for discussion and analysis related to LGBTQ identity and sexually transmitted diseases.
The service of counseling The Helpline seeks to ease the tensions a problem poses to the person calling, so that they can regain the ability to manage it. It simply involves helping them free themselves from all the obstacles that impede or limit this inner strength, so that, free, they can act with all their energy in the direction they deem most appropriate and desirable.
