The circle Arcigay La Rocca of Cremona It was founded in 1992 by a dozen young people from Cremona. After a couple of years of intense political and recreational activity, the club's history unfortunately ended in 1995 due to the exhaustion of its most active members.
Since September 2002, thanks to the enthusiasm of a handful of volunteers, cultural and entertainment initiatives have resumed, and good relationships have been established with organizations and institutions, as well as strong ties with political parties and associations. All this has helped consolidate the organization's image and standing both locally and nationally.
“We are particularly proud of our small headquarters, our Documentation Center, and the 'Encounter the New' training course for reception volunteers, which has received praise and recognition for its innovative methods and techniques from various institutions and individuals.‘ — declares the president of Arcigay La Rocca, Lorenza Tizzi — “Since November, the new fortnightly event 'Break the Ice' has become the most popular Sunday aperitif in Cremona, a lively opportunity for gay and lesbian encounters.‘
“The aspiration that drives our association today is the expansion of our activities and services.” — continues Lorenza – “Our goal is to improve our potential, to implement our presence throughout the province, with the intention of stimulating that cultural and political growth necessary to achieve equality in rights and respect for the dignity of homosexual persons. To continue doing all this, we need new energy from people who contact us, perhaps by stopping by our office at Via Speciano 4 in Cremona or writing to us online.”.
