Arcigay, the most important national lesbian and gay association, has been awarding the prize since this year Golden Pegasus to a personality from the world of entertainment who with statements, positions, attitudes, has distinguished itself in supporting the dignity of homosexual, bisexual and transgender people.
The prize is awarded on May 17th every year because the LGBT community celebrates the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.
For its first edition Arcigay has decided to award this prize to Simona Ventura, showgirl and TV host of L'Isola dei Famosi and Quelli che Il Calcio, who will therefore be the godmother of the gala event.
During the evening, the following will also be awarded: Vladimir Luxuria, present at the party, the special Pegaso Arcobaleno award as LGBT personality of the year.
The pair of characters who, in the season just ended, managed to penetrate the wall of prejudice that crowds popular television with a new language and sincere determination, will therefore be reunited for LGBT audiences.
The awards ceremony will take place during a gala which will take place in Milan, Sunday 17 May at Karma Privé, at Borgo del Tempo Perso, in via Fabio Massimo 36, starting at 9.00 pm.
The evening will begin with a dinner by invitation at 9.00 pm and will continue with a drag entertainment show from 10.30pm. The awards ceremony will take place at 11.00 pm.
The Pegasus It is the winged horse of Greek mythology. Strong and powerful in running, it has large wings that allow it to take flight. Since its inception in 1985, Pegasus has been the symbol of Arcigay, of our collective commitment to making a new idea of society fly high., to give "wings to freedom"“.
