Actors wanted for to establish a group that will have the aim of dealing with LGBT (lesbian – gay – bisexual – trans) issues in public contexts with the "interactive" tool of TDO (theatre of the oppressed), which allows the audience to enter the stage to "dialogue" and "interact" with the other actors.
The TDO It allows to address various types of social issues, with an audience that participates in the performance and becomes an active part of the story being represented, bringing its own contribution in terms of ideas, proposals for change – all through the scenic action – with respect to situations that otherwise follow the "scripts decided by others", as the "scripts of social life" often are“.
It's a kind of theatre with which you can to deal with a social conflict, a collective discomfort and which can be used with both small and medium-sized audiences, as well as with large ones; therefore it can be used in schools, associations, squares and wherever it may be requested.
What makes this mode interesting is that the public becomes an active part (not passive as it usually is in traditional theatre), and has the opportunity to contribute to the unfolding of the scene by promoting awareness that it is possible to introduce changes in something that happens around us (or at least try).
To be a TDO actor, you don't need to know how to act, but “knowing how to be” in a conflict situation and therefore interacting with other actors and with the audience actors.
With TDO we address stereotypes, social conflicts, overt but also more subterranean prejudices and above all, the figures of the "oppressor" and the "oppressed" in the various dimensions of social life.
We are looking for 12-13 people interested in forming this group to then bring the TDO forums to an LGBT theme, where possible.
The host will be Ermanno Marogna who has been following TDO and psychodrama experiences for several years and manages LGBT groups in various fields using the active methodology.
At the presentation of the June 12, 2009, 9:00 PM The TDO method and the project's general objectives will be explained in detail, and together it will be possible to identify other uses and possibilities and define more precise objectives.
The meeting place is the “Cultural Centre 6 May 1848 – Via Mantovana, 66 in Verona.
