Rome, April 12 (Adnkronos) – ”The election of a heterosexual as head of the Arcigay branch in Bari leaves me frankly perplexed, not so much because the thing in itself is not possible or legitimate (although it's hard to imagine a Marchionne as head of the CGIL, for example). Other heterosexuals have already been presidents of branches like those in Messina and Catania. Anyone can join Arcigay (except clericofascists and homophobes, of course) and anyone can run for office. It is therefore perplexing that the newly elected member immediately declares that 'With this choice, therefore, I am doing violence to myself' instead of perhaps affirming his happiness and satisfaction with such a demanding role in the city of Pride 2003 and in the region of Governor Vendola.’ This is what Franco Grillini, national president of Gaynet, emphasizes. ’I have no idea,’ he continues, ’how this election came about and if The national organization was aware of it. I'm told there were six of them present, and frankly, it seems exaggerated on the part of some, perhaps self-interested commentators, to cry foul (which isn't the case, given that he's the third straight president in the association's history) when such a small number of people contributed to a decision that affects everyone. In any case, best wishes to the elected official, hoping he soon overcomes the "violence" he claims to have inflicted upon himself.
