GORIZIA Two women exchanging a kiss, in a family setting and in front of a lavishly laid table. Posters will also be posted in Gorizia and the surrounding province for the International Day Against Homophobia, which is celebrated on Tuesday, in commemoration of the removal of homosexuality—in 1990—from the list of mental illnesses in the International Classification of Diseases, published by the World Health Organization. Forty posters will be displayed in Gorizia, 27 in Monfalcone, all with the slogan "Civilization, a typical Italian product," made famous last year by the campaign by Arcigay Udine and echoed throughout Italy this year. The initiative is sponsored by the Province of Gorizia and the Municipality of Monfalcone, but not by the city council of the capital: "It is disappointing to note that the Municipality of Gorizia has not even responded to our request for sponsorship," explained Lorenzo Cenni, secretary of the radical association "Certi Diritti.".
