LIVORNO. A historic place for Livorno residents, the old open-air railway workers' cinema, reopens its doors to the city thanks to the efforts of the Ex Cinema Aurora Collective, which has restored the spaces of the Summer Arena to become a hub for socializing and gathering. This is thanks to a popular festival scheduled from Friday, May 27th to Sunday, June 5th. The festival will feature voluntary and non-voluntary associations, including Italy-Cuba, Italy-Nicaragua, the Caritas Siamo InDiversi Commission, the Centro Mondialità e Sviluppo Reciproco, Amref, Arcigay Livorno, the Humus Group, Iccrein Video-Maker, the Cascina Circus School, and Dopo Lavoro Ferroviario. These consortia will be present with their own stands, along with the Minimum Fax publishing house and other stands offering exhibitions and small craft items. There will also be the ever-present "porchettaro" stall with a sweets stand, a lounge bar with musical and cultural aperitifs, a gotter for a quiet glass of wine or sangria, and a discussion area completely open to anyone wishing to engage in any kind of discussion. Furthermore, to the delight of the little ones, in addition to circus performances, there will also be street performers ready to entertain them with their games. Finally, inside the Ex-Cinema, there will be an exhibition-market featuring the works of artist Francesco "Ninja" Spanù. To round off the event on a cheerful note, every evening, shortly before the stalls close, various shows will begin, including live music concerts and family-friendly film screenings, inside the cinema. The initiative was created with the aim of bringing together different generations in a corner of the neighborhood reclaimed from closure and decay. Every day at 5 pm the stands open and the circus and street artists begin their performances.
