Amsterdam. Fleeing Homophobia – seeking safety in Europe

An international conference will be held in Amsterdam on 5 and 6 September 2011 to present and discuss the results of the European research project “Fleeing Homophobia – seeking safety in Europe”, in which Rete Lenford – Avvocatura per i Diritti LGBTI is a partner.

The conference links are: Fleeing Homophobia Conference, 5-6 September 2011 or Facebook.

The Fleeing Homophobia project concerns the application in European Union countries of international and European legislation on international protection for lesbian, gay, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people who seek protection due to fear of persecution or serious harm because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Through in-depth research conducted in each EU country, implementation practices were identified and proposals and recommendations were formulated for the EU and its member states. The findings will be compiled in a report to be presented at the conference and then published online along with the national reports.

For Italy the research was conducted by Rete Lenford – Advocacy for LGBTI Rights (Simone Rossi) together with Arcigay (George Dell'Amico)
