Livorno. Arcigay meets at City Hall to protect gay rights.

LIVORNO. "The Livorno administration has nothing to reproach itself for. The municipal motion against homophobia was an important signal, but at the national level, the situation is extremely serious." On the day the bill against homophobia and transphobia was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies, Calogero Cavataio, president of Arcigay Livorno, expressed his disappointment at the City Hall before five left-wing council groups: Rifondazione, Sel, Pd, IDV, and Federazione della Sinistra. "In our country, the only one in Europe that still lacks a law protecting gays and trans people, the situation is critical," Cavataio explained. "In the last month alone, 30 people have been attacked." Arcigay displayed its flag, a symbol of gay rights, in the chamber.
«"In recent days," Giannini states, "we have sent the motion against homophobia to all left-wing provincial councilors; we hope it will be approved soon." (LM)
