Arcigay. Naming gay people is gratuitous and intolerable brutality.

“For Arcigay, outing, that is, the practice of naming homosexuals or lesbians who, for various reasons, have chosen to live their sexual orientation in secret, is an extremely violent practice, completely alien to our history, culture, and political horizon. Arcigay therefore dissociates itself from initiatives of this kind and condemns them with the utmost severity because they are gratuitous, violent, and useless. Paolo Patanè, national president of Arcigay.

Patanè he speaks very harsh words to those who, in recent days, "have promoted and perpetrated such a violent and cowardly act.".

“"In particular," explains the president of Arcigay, "the announcement of support from anonymous individuals, secret profiles, and websites registered abroad that could list the names of Italian homosexuals would render the gesture devoid of identity and responsibility. The gay movement's use of smear campaigns, the same ones that have tainted coexistence in our country, confirms the political degeneration of part of it. This is a distinct and distant part from Arcigay, which exhausts its political battle with tasteless marketing and superficial press coverage.".

“"Outing is pointless and risks only producing falsehoods in the wake of the most base gossip. Arcigay defends freedom and rights: the right to be oneself in the ways, places, and times each person freely chooses. We have always respected this principle, which is our fundamental value, protecting the privacy of our members with rigor, respect, and loyalty. No exceptions are conceivable," concludes Patanè.
