Perugia. Focus on sexuality with Transnovember 2011.

  

PERUGIA. The third "Transnovember 2011" series, organized by Arcigay with the patronage of the City of Perugia, is underway. The series, dedicated to gender issues, opens tomorrow at 9:00 PM at the Omphalos club with a screening of Jim Sharman's 1975 film "The Rocky Horror Pictures Show," and concludes on Sunday the 20th in Piazza della Repubblica with an international demonstration in memory of the victims of transphobia. Three weekends focusing on sexuality. After the opening, the program continues on Saturday the 5th at 5:00 PM at the Combo in Via Cartolari, with a discussion of the book "Non ci lasceremo mai" by Federica Tuzi (Lantana Publishing). The week concludes on Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Omphalos club with a screening of Alberto Vendemmiati's film "La persona De Leo N." followed by a meeting with the film's protagonist. The festival continues on Friday the 11th from 11 pm at Be Queer with the "Lgbtqi Umbra!" show featuring Nikita Magno and her drag performers. A discussion on intersexuality led by Michela Balocchi will be the focus of the meeting on Saturday the 12th at 5 pm at Combo; then, on Sunday the 13th, at 5 pm, plastic surgery and its instructions for use provided by Francesco Malatesta will be dedicated to the afternoon at Omphalos. The final weekend of the festival will feature a film club screening of "Hedwig – The Diva with Something Extra," directed by John Cameron Mitchell, on Friday the 18th at 9 pm, and a discussion on Saturday the 19th on "Italian Law and Transsexuality" with Antonio Rotelli (president of Rete Lenford). The final event, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, will be held on Sunday the 20th in Piazza della Repubblica at 6 pm.
