Brescia. SEL nominates Luca Trentini, former secretary of Arcigay.

ON THE LIST. The names of those running for the regional elections alongside candidate Ambrosoli in the "electoral battle" against the People of Freedom (PDL) and the Northern League (Lega Nord) have been announced.
Lacquaniti is satisfied: "No one is leading the list, but everyone is committed to promoting a different vision of politics."«

The Sel team is ready to take to the field in the next regional elections to support presidential candidate Ambrosoli.

Ten candidates with a single goal: to support Umberto Ambrosoli's "democratic transformation" and bring to the Pirellone some of the left's most cherished issues, from labor to welfare, from healthcare to the environment, and even minority rights. This is how the Brescian Left Ecology and Freedom candidates are presenting themselves in the upcoming regional elections, with a team made up of people "chosen for their abilities and their connection to the local area," explains provincial coordinator Luigi Lacquaniti, confident that thanks to Sel's support, it will be possible to "end the era of Formigoni scandals and provide Lombardy with an administration worthy of the name." The lineup of candidates is diverse. Among them are faces more or less well-known, especially Donatella Albini. An opposition city councilor in Loggia and a gynecologist active in the defense of civil rights, her motto is the "common good" and she emphasizes principles such as redefining welfare, merging healthcare and social services, advocating for gender policies, and supporting minorities. These are also issues dear to Elisa Chiari, a 28-year-old city councilor in Monticelli Brusati, who focuses on the "need for more politics" and has placed the fight against overbuilding at the top of her agenda. On the issue of labor, Beppe Almansi, with a long history on the Brescia left, focuses on the need to "bring the voice of those who have never had one to the Region," from the Mac and Iveco workers (to whom Sel has already guaranteed its support) to migrants, the newly poor, the unemployed, and prisoners. Danilo Reghenzi, a 33-year-old engineer from Gambara, has the same priorities, but with a distinctly "youthful" focus. His watchwords are combating precarious employment and youth unemployment, strengthening public schools, and protecting the environment. Igor Bulgarini and Elisa D'Adda, 30 and 33, respectively, are also very young. Bulgarini, a worker and coordinator of the SEL party in Desenzano, focuses on jobs and bringing "good politics" to the region; D'Adda, a web editor and member of the provincial coordination committee, focuses on improving air quality and stemming the brain drain from regional borders. Luca Trentini, former president of the Brescian gay union, is focused on minority rights. His "mission" will be to create a break with the "single" social model proposed by Formigoni. AGAIN, among the Sel candidates are two retired teachers: Vittoria (known as Romana) Gandossi—known for her battles against the xenophobic policies of the mayor of Adro—and Rosanna Mezzana—who has been active for years in the social inclusion of immigrant women—not to mention a "representative" of the mountain areas, Daniel Spadacini, a 30-year-old computer scientist from Bienno who, as a good coordinator of the Camuno Sel, fights to ensure "the valleys are not left to die.".
