Monday, April 11, at 4:00 p.m., Palazzo d'Alì, Sodano Room: Presentation of Protego, the first center against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo.
Protego, which will open its doors in a few weeks, will be a safe space for listening, welcoming, and supporting anyone who needs help or feels they have been discriminated against.
The presentation will be attended by Mayor Giacomo Tranchida and Deputy Mayor Vincenzo Abbruscato, Councilor for Social Services, Public Education, Sport, Youth and Labor Policies.
The Protego Project is implemented by Arcigay Palermo in partnership with the Municipalities of Trapani and Palermo, and is funded by UNAR (National Anti-Discrimination Office – Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department of Equal Opportunities).
The activities of the Protego Anti-Discrimination Center will be divided into actions aimed at direct beneficiaries (LGBTI+ people who are victims of discrimination and violence or in vulnerable situations), and systemic activities aimed at the local community (families, public employees, police forces, healthcare workers and doctors, schools, and policy makers).
