Antinoo Arcigay Naples asks that light be shed as soon as possible on the dramatic incident involving Gennaro Giordano, the 39 year old who committed suicide a year ago and who – according to what was reported by Ansa – in the five letters left to his family, so that they could understand the malaise that pushed him to take the extreme action, made explicit reference to a situation of mobbing suffered at work due to one's own homosexuality.
Our association, through its lawyers, who have been made available free of charge, has supported the family since the very first moments of this painful affair, as Gennaro himself apparently expressly wished.
There Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office, the town where Giordano worked, has been working for some time to shed light on the incident following requests from the family, who, having recovered the letters, are convinced that Gennaro was forced to commit suicide. We are confident that the justice system will provide clear and, above all, swift answers to alleviate, even if only partially, the family's pain and anguish.
In his letters, Giordano, who has very sweet words for his family, describes his emotional exhaustion and, above all, according to press reports, makes serious accusations against other colleagues who he feels persecuted and ignored.
However, we regret to report that unfortunately the company where Gennaro worked has not yet accepted any meetings of dialogue and discussion with our association. We will continue to work for justice and truth.
