Antinoo Arcigay Napoli appeals for a humanitarian bridge from Israel for the safe evacuation of LGBTQIA+ people.

Antinoo Arcigay Naples launch on the platform change.org an urgent appeal to the Italian institutions for a humanitarian bridge from Israel (https://chng.it/hqFdDctG8y).

With this appeal, we ask for a timely and coordinated intervention by Italian institutions, at every level - national, regional and local - for the activation of an urgent humanitarian bridge aimed at guaranteeing the safe evacuation from war-torn Israel of the activist and president of Antinoo Arcigay Napoli, Antonello Sannino, and all the other Italian LGBTQIA+ people left stranded in the country.

In recent days, following the sudden worsening of the geopolitical situation and the outbreak of the military front between Israel and Iran, some Italian citizens who were in Tel Aviv to participate in the Pride parade were suddenly left isolated and unable to return safely.

Among them is Antonello Sannino, a longtime civil rights activist who has been a key figure in the fight for equality in Campania and Italy for over twenty years, recognized nationally for his unwavering commitment to combating all forms of discrimination. He is currently forced to shelter in a bunker for his safety, a situation that is of profound human and political concern.

The LGBTQIA+ people in Israel today are not casual tourists, but ambassadors of democratic values, inclusion, and peace. Their presence at the Pride Parade represented a gesture of international solidarity, brotherhood, and global commitment against hatred and marginalization. They are sentinels who say No to all forms of violence and war.

We therefore strongly demand:

• The immediate activation of diplomatic and logistical channels to facilitate the return to Italy of Antonello Sannino and the LGBTQIA+ activists stranded in Israel;

• The intervention of the Farnesina, in coordination with the Italian Embassy in Tel Aviv, to guarantee safe evacuation conditions;

• The public speaking out of regional and municipal institutions – particularly the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples – in defense of their citizens and representatives committed to human and civil rights.

We cannot allow silence and indifference to isolate those who have championed rights, hope, and freedom. This is the moment when institutions must demonstrate that the values of our Constitution—dignity, solidarity, peace—apply to everyone, in every corner of the world.

Let's free Antonello. Let's free those who have chosen visibility and commitment. Let's leave no one behind. Arcigay Naples Press Office
