Arcigay supports the Global Sumud Flotilla towards Gaza

Faced with the complicity of Western institutions and governments, and faced with a compromised economic and information system—as Francesca Albanese's report on the "economy of genocide" denounced—civil society cannot stand by and watch.
It is our duty to take responsibility to oppose what is happening in Gaza with forms of peaceful resistance and concrete solidarity: a live genocide, with the Israeli government's clear intent to annex territory at the cost of the extermination of an entire people, through mass killings, starvation, and disease caused by an illegal blockade imposed by force, with the indifference—or worse, with the complicity—of Western countries and the European Union.

The Global Sumud Flotilla represents the largest civilian maritime expedition in history: approximately 200–300 activists aboard 20–30 vessels from 44 countries, half of which are Italian.
An action that seeks not only to break the criminal blockade imposed on Gaza, but also to expose the hypocrisy of Western governments who, with rare exceptions, remain silent in the face of the genocide of the Palestinian people.

Arcigay denounces the Italian government's indifference, incapable even of expressing clear condemnation, let alone taking action to stop this tragedy.

This is why we join and support the Sumud Flotilla.
We thank our local committees who participated in the food drive promoted by Music for Peace and the activists who are currently joining the marches from north to south. We will keep this effort under wraps to protect the activists who have embarked.
Because human rights, justice, and freedom know no borders.
