On Saturday 14 March 2026, the Second Association Congress of took place in the Foyer of the Teatro dell'Unione. Arcigay Viterbo – Peter Boom APS. The Congress represented an important step in the democratic life of the association and confirmed its roots in the local area and its connection to a broad network of civic, associative, and institutional bodies. The public greetings were attended by Deputy Mayor of Viterbo Alfonso Antoniozzi, Arcigay Nazionale, Arcigay Latina, Arcigay Rieti, Arcigay Roma, Arcigay Frosinone, Arcigay Molise, ARCI Viterbo, AUCS, Erinna, and Rete Studenti Medi Viterbo.
During the Congress, the 2025 financial statements were approved, the end-of-term reports were presented, and the association's new Board of Directors was unanimously elected.
Following the subsequent internal election of the Board of Directors, the new president of the association is the Dr. Lorenzo Abbate. The new Board of Directors is composed of Lorenzo Abbate, Gabriele Bacchiarri, Paolo Clementi, Anna Menicheschi, Giordano Piccirilli and Virginia Migliore.
The approved program outlines a more solid and visible growth path for Arcigay Viterbo, based on clear pillars, including public outreach, community outreach, cultural growth, training, well-being, and social engagement. The objectives outlined include strengthening membership participation, greater assembly vitality, strengthening the library, more systematic work on the local LGBT+ historical memory, the launch of the Trans* Group, cultural and training initiatives, workshops with professionals, and activities related to health and inclusive sports.
“I take on this role with gratitude and responsibility,” declares the Dr. Lorenzo Abbate. "The goal will be to work towards an Arcigay Viterbo that is increasingly present, authoritative, and rooted in the local community, and aware of its own history—an association capable of building communities, offering support, producing culture, and strengthening its public presence. For me, the theme of memory will be central: preserving and reconstructing the LGBT+ history of our region doesn't mean looking back with nostalgia, but rather giving greater depth to the present and greater strength to the future."“
Arcigay Viterbo – Peter Boom APS thanks the outgoing Board of Directors, led by the president Dr. Virginia Migliore and composed of the Dr. Grazia Bandiera, from Alice Castri, from the Dr. Giovanna Picchi, from the Dr. Priscilla Pittore and from Dr. Jonathan Righi, for the work carried out in recent years with commitment, continuity and a sense of responsibility, contributing to consolidating the association's presence in the area and strengthening its role as a social, cultural and civil garrison.
The association's regular activities continue as usual at its headquarters at Via Vicenza 13, Viterbo, where the Sportello Arcobaleno (Rainbow Help Desk), open every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 8 pm, and the Youth Group, which meets on the first Wednesday of every month, also continue.
