A Permanent Coordination Committee for Viterbo Pride: an open invitation to all local organizations.
This Friday 12th September at 7pm at Biancovolta, in Via delle Piagge 23, in Viterbo the very first assembly will be held to build together a Permanent Coordination for Pride in Viterbo.
As already reiterated in our press release of June 4th (“The meaning of a Pride beyond the parade, towards the community”): https://www.arcigay.it/articoli/il-senso-di-un-pride-oltre-la-parata-verso-la-comunita/ ), we believe that Pride cannot be just an annual parade, but must be a political and cultural project that belongs to the entire community. For this reason, we propose the creation of a Permanent Coordination Committee for Viterbo Pride, a space for democratic, transparent, and participatory discussion.
Over seventy local associations have been invited to the meeting, including those that make up the Municipal Volunteer Council, along with many other non-member organizations. Our invitation is also extended to collectives, student associations, informal groups, and individuals working in the area who wish to contribute to a shared journey.
This initial meeting will serve to lay the foundation for a shared journey, to begin defining together the principles, objectives, and methods for creating a Pride that is truly inclusive, diverse, and capable of representing our community in all its diverse voices and sensitivities. It will be a time for listening and making proposals, a collective launch to begin imagining the future of Pride in Viterbo. PBecause Pride isn't just an event: it's a collective responsibility that concerns everyone.
