The streets of Naples were filled with joy and unstoppable energy for an extraordinary edition of the Naples Pride, which exceeded all expectations and all attempts at exploitation. Pride, once again, was a powerful lesson in civility, demonstrating the strength and political maturity of the LGBTQIA+ movement.
The stage of Napoli Pride, an exception in the Italian panorama, gave voice to all positions. From the Jewish LGBTQIA+ association and Certi Diritti, to numerous individuals, groups, and associations, everyone had the opportunity to express their concerns. A strong message of solidarity with the Palestinian cause resonated clearly, joining the chorus of key demands.
At the heart of Naples Pride, in fact, remained the rights denied to LGBTQIA+ people and the growing oppression they suffer in Italy and many other parts of the world.
Pride has proven, once again, to be an immense political, human and democratic container, a place where every position, person, and identity can feel free to express their demands for freedom, equality, solidarity, and peace. Naples Pride triumphed with its colors, its music, its faces, its celebration, and its unwavering protest. This success is even more precious given the many attempts, both external and internal, to distort the essence of Pride for various political ends.
