NAPLES, January 18, 2026 Naples responds to the Iranian people's cry of pain. In a crowded and silent Piazza dei Martiri, chosen not by chance for its high symbolic value, Neapolitan civil society embraced the Iranian resistance. The event, convened by Antinoo Arcigay Naples and from the’Ernesto Rossi Radical Association of Naples“, saw the transversal participation of the religious, political and associative world, culminating in a human chain that physically and morally united two peoples.
The common thread of history: from the women of Naples to those of Tehran The square, deliberately stripped of party flags to leave room only for the flag of freedom, was the scene of a powerful historical parallel. Antonello Sannino, promoter of the event for Antinoo Arcigay Napoli, traced a line of continuity between the Neapolitan and Iranian resistance:

There's a common thread linking the Naples of 1799 and the Four Days of 1943 to today's Iran: it's a revolution that begins with women.
