[:en]The Seventeenth National Congress of Arcigay, held in Latina from 11 to 13 November, elected Natascia Maesi as President, the first female president of the Association, and reconfirmed Gabriele Piazzoni as Secretary General.
The Arcigay National Congress is an important moment that sees delegates elected from each territorial Congress flock together every four years to be represented.
The assembly of members of Arcigay Ragusa has chosen as its delegates Andrea Ragusa, president of Arcigay Ragusa since May, and Federica Schembri, Councilor: a new experience for both of them, that of participating in the national Congress, meeting and comparing themselves with the other local entities that belong to Arcigay, coming from all over Italy.
Andrea Ragusa, originally from Scicli, was elected National Councilor on this occasion, taking over from Emanuele Micilotta, current vice president of Arcigay Ragusa, previously held for the same association.
“We returned from this conference with a significant cultural background, more motivated than before, and full of ideas. To the many initiatives already in the pipeline, such as the inauguration of the Rainbow Bench in Vittoria, activities with the "Fuori Luogo" schools, the organization of a conference on sexually transmitted diseases and infections, and activities for Ragusa Pride 2023, new proposals will undoubtedly be added soon.“
