Carlo De Benedictis's short film was awarded for its powerful meditation on time, love, and memory, elevating a love story to a universal symbol of innocence and purity.

BENEVENTO – In an evening dedicated to social cinema and emotions, the short film “The Time of a Memory” by Carlo De Benedictis received the prestigious award “Antinous Movie 2025” during the closing ceremony of the 17th edition of the Benevento Social Film Festival. The event, held on Saturday, October 4th at the Teatro Comunale “Vittorio Emanuele” in Benevento, was masterfully hosted by Adriana Volpe.

The award was presented by Antonello Sannino, president of Antinoo Arcigay Naples and from the actress Marika Gambardella. The award's motivations emphasize the work's high artistic and thematic value: "The film is a powerful meditation on time, memory, and the indelible nature of certain bonds. Starting with the powerful Shakespearean quote at the beginning— ‘'Love, love madly, love as much as you can and if they tell you it's a sin, love your sin and you'll be innocent'’ —the short film elevates a love story to a universal symbol of innocence and purity, beyond any judgment.” The jury also praised the work “for its impeccable technical execution, for the depth with which it explores universal themes such as love and memory, and for the exceptionally intense acting performances.”.

During the awards ceremony, Antonello Sannino recalled the historic collaboration with the Benevento Social Film Festival, a partnership strongly supported by Francesco Tomasiello. Pressed by the host, Sannino reiterated the importance of a social film festival in Benevento, calling it "an increasingly important point of reference in a country struggling to recognize civil rights and protect the core values of our Constitution.".

The evening saw the awarding of numerous other prizes, celebrating cinema as a tool for reflection and social inclusion, in an edition that had "Emotions" as its central theme.
