Naples remembers the victims of transphobia: November 20, TDoR 2025, morning with transgender inmates in Secondigliano, 7 p.m. torchlight procession in Scampia

On the occasion of Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), the international day dedicated to the memory of victims of transphobia, the associations Antinoo Arcigay Napoli, Pride Vesuvio, Pochos, Discovery Queer, Dream Team Scampia, and Arci Scampia, with the moral patronage of the City of Naples, have joined forces to create a crucial moment of public reflection and solidarity. The event is for:

• Thursday, November 20, 2025
• Starting at 7:00 pm
• At the ARCI Scampia headquarters (Scampia, Naples)

The initiative will kick off with a torchlight procession in the Scampia neighborhood, a visible symbol of memory and solidarity. Afterwards, we will gather at the ARCI premises for a moment of public debate and commemoration, to share thoughts, testimonies, and strengthen our shared commitment. During the event, it will be possible to admire the photographic exhibition "“There's no single way to band” of Savior on Neapolitan queer culture, an exhibition promoted by the Association “Discovery Queer“.

The TDoR is not only a necessary act of remembrance, but represents a powerful call to collective responsibility. It's an opportunity to reiterate our "NO" to the hatred, discrimination, and gender-based violence that still affect the transgender and non-binary community.
The choice of Scampia as the location for this commemoration has a precise symbolic value: we want to underscore the importance of bringing these fundamental issues to the suburbs, places that are the beating heart of the city, strengthening the network of local solidarity and actively combating all forms of marginalization and exclusion.

As every year, our association will also participate with conviction in the event organized by the Trans Napoli Association from 4:30 pm in Piazza Plebiscito, as a testimony to a shared and constant commitment. While A meeting between a representative of our associations and the trans and gender non-conforming people detained in the Secondigliano prison is scheduled for the morning of the 20th..
We invite members, allies, and all citizens to participate in remembering, resisting, and building a more just and welcoming society together.
