The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) recently launched a major survey to gather the experiences, views and concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTQIA+) people living in Europe.
This data will be crucial for shaping future European policies aimed at protecting and promoting the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The survey is open to LGBTQIA+ people aged 15 and over living in 30 European countries, including the 27 EU Member States, Albania, Serbia, and North Macedonia. Participants have until the end of July 2023 to participate and share their experiences.
The results of a similar survey conducted in 2019 highlighted how much progress remains to be made towards achieving full equality for LGBTQIA+ people in Europe. These data were instrumental in defining the European Commission's 2020-2025 strategy for LGBTQIA+ equality.
For this reason, the FRA strongly encourages the entire European LGBTQIA+ community to take part in the survey and share the initiative with family and friends. To follow the survey on social media, you can use the hashtag #LGBTIQsurvey.
Participation is simple and secure: it only takes 20 minutes to complete the survey anonymously. Your data will be stored locally on your devices and deleted at the end of the survey.
The time has come to make our voices heard and express our opinions. Let's take part in the EU survey to help build a more equal and inclusive Europe!
