”"Rebel Films" – Arcigay Salerno's LGBTQIA+ Film Club

Eight films exploring the identities of the LGBTQIA+ acronym

Arcigay Salerno "Marcella Di Folco" presents "Pellicole Ribelli," the LGBTQIA+ film festival that, in the months of February and March, offers a journey of viewing and discussion through eight films, each dedicated to one of the identities of the acronym LGBTQIA+.

“"Rebel Films" was created with the aim of using cinema as a cultural and political tool, capable of telling often marginalized stories and opening spaces for dialogue on issues of identity, self-determination, relationships, and rights. The title of the festival recalls the "rebellious" nature of the selected films: films that challenge stereotypes, normative models, and dominant narratives, restoring complexity and humanity to LGBTQIA+ experiences.

The event will take place every Wednesday in February and March at 8:30 pm at the following location:

📍 Arcigay Salerno
Via Romualdo Secondo Guarna, 2 – Salerno

The course is divided into eight sessions, each dedicated to a letter of the LGBTQIA+ acronym:

📅 Calendar:

The selected films, both Italian and international, address themes such as identity construction, family, parenthood, the body, desire, visibility, and social recognition, offering diverse perspectives that are often underrepresented in the mainstream.

Each screening will be followed by a public discussion, designed to be a safe space for discussion, sharing, and learning. This space will allow us to collectively elaborate on the insights that emerge from the screening and stimulate critical reflection on the topics covered.

With "Rebel Films," Arcigay Salerno aims to promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and awareness, highlighting cinema as a universal language capable of building bridges, generating empathy, and contributing to social change.
