We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Chiara, a 19-year-old trans woman who took her own life in her home in Naples, taking advantage of her mother's absence.
Two years ago, she had already denounced her marginalization and the bullying she had been forced to endure since she decided to express her female identity.
It is precisely these types of situations that have led to the institution Naples from the House of Cultures and Hospitality, born with the support of the Municipality of Naples, institutions, local authorities and local associations to provide a response to LGBTQ+ people, supporting them from a legal, medical and psychological point of view. In particular, Porticoes is operational InConTra Consulting Room aimed specifically at transgender people (including minors) to support them in their experience of awareness and transition. In collaboration with the Naples Police Headquarters, through the OSCAD protocol and thanks to UNAR and the help of the Municipalities, anti-discrimination centres have also started in San Giorgio a Cremano, Pomigliano d'Arco And Caivano.
