Antinoo Arcigay Naples denounces the violent social campaign, unleashed in these days of preparation for the Pride against the Association, with a request for the President's resignation, Antonello Sannino.
The Board of Directors of Antinoo Arcigay Napoli wishes to express its utmost solidarity, support, and trust in its President. It wishes to remind its detractors, who are often skilled at turning personal differences into political issues, that democratic debate is welcome, but will be conducted in institutional settings, not on social media, where the most vulgar and offensive "slogans" prevail.
This debate has never ceased within Antinoo Arcigay Napoli and will continue in all democratic forms, including the election and confirmation of the President, who will continue to be democratically elected by the Association's members and who, in this situation, will under no circumstances be able to take into account the foolish desires of those who see their personal ambitions frustrated and identify Antinoo Arcigay Napoli and its president as their scapegoat.
The attacks appear, in fact, entirely instrumental and malicious, so inexplicable in substance and method, unless one assumes they are aimed at seizing the capital of rights, esteem, support, and recognition from citizens, politicians, and democratic administrators, which the hard work of recent years has allowed us to obtain, starting with the organization of the Naples Pride, one of the most attended in Europe, and the numerous Pride events in all the other cities of Campania.
So those who are trying to exploit the terrible tragedy in Palestine, throughout the Middle East, and other grave geopolitical events to gain a purist reputation at the expense of the Antinoo Arcigay Naples Association should resign themselves. The issues are too serious to lend themselves to misuse.
Finally, the Board of Directors of Antinoo Arcigay Napoli takes this opportunity to thank all the members, friends, citizens, and institutions who have expressed their support at this time, renewing without hesitation their trust in President Antonello Sannino.
