Andrea Fiorillo and Carlo Liccardo in “Let's go” – Friday, March 15, 9 pm

“Let's go” is the theatrical text, written and directed by Luca Pizzurro, on stage at the Trianon Viviani on Friday 15 March, at 9 pm. The action takes place in Naples, after the armistice of World War II, when the city is abandoned to the Germans, who unleash their anger on the population. Against this backdrop, the story of the loneliness of two "“little girls”" who, in the already tragic context, search for the end of the tangled web of their lives. Two small characters who, with their strength, will make a major contribution to the extraordinary liberation movement that was the Four Days of Naples. «"It could be just one of the many desperate stories of life," Pizzurro explains, "during the Second World War. Or it could also be about how the uprising known as the Four Days of Naples began and exploded. It could be a story of stolen childhood, of a search for identity, of violence—the kind of stories that the Italians know well." little girls of Naples. But perhaps it aims to be something more than that: a journey into the feelings and emotions of those who live in a body they feel inadequate for, of those who long to experience the joy of motherhood, denied them. But above all, it is a story of humanity and life, despite everything. On stage Andrea Fiorillo And Carlo Liccardo. The original music is by Enzo Gragnaniello, the scenes of Fabrizio Piergiovanni, the costumes of Graziella Pera and the choreographies of Luana Iaquaniello. The production is by Ellepiggi theatre. Vinicio Capossela in “Concert of pucundria and other absences” – Saturday, March 16, 9 pm
For the first time at the Trianon Viviani, on Saturday 16 March, at 9pm, arrives Vinicio Capossela with “Concert of pucundria and other absences”. The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and writer, among the artists who have received the most recognition from the Tenco Club, has always loved blending different forms of expression and surprising audiences. In this concert, he musically reflects on the concept of the melancholy of love and the feeling of absence. «The “pucundria”" – explains Capossela – is a vast and obscure feeling. This state of mind, to which the Neapolitan language has given a name, could have its origins in the Greek ypochondrios, literally "under the ribs." It's not hypochondria, worrying about one's health, but something that, affecting a psychological and emotional sphere, evokes that discomfort felt precisely at the level of the ribs and then spreads throughout the soul, influencing one's mood. «"For Galenic medicine, humor was a secretion within the body," continues the artist of Irpinian origins. "The melancholic substance came from the liver and was black bile, which caused a gloomy disposition, a particular type of depression. The word melancholy comes from "black bile," from the Greek words apples (black) and cholè (bile). Arab doctors took up Galen's school and translated black bile with the word sawda, from which the Ottoman sevdah, meaning "love", used in Türkiye, Bosnia and Greece, as well as saudade, which is that form of melancholy of the fado genre.". For Capossela «the melancholy of love is the central theme of many pieces of music that deal with the feeling of absence, but it is not the only one: nostalgia, the pain of nostos, of the return that passes through the heart, is another recurring theme in the music of black bile; and it is an intoxication, a yearning that can be felt even for a street, a scent, a neighborhood, and even for a life never lived, which is, at once, poison and medicine, like the music that practices it. The demon of melancholy has various names in the music of absence in which it lurks: dalkas in rebetiko, duende in flamenco and blues in African-American music. «A city suspended on the sea and founded by a siren, like Naples, knows all these feelings well – concludes the artist –; and to this feeling, which is also a way of existing, I dedicate my concert at the Trianon Viviani, one of the historical temples of the city: a concert for stringed instruments to get the siren entangled in the nets melas cholè, the black bile, until it is purged, like cuttlefish ink, to write music with its ink». Giovanni Block in “Back” – Sunday, March 17, 8 pm
Giovanni Block will be on the stage of the Trianon Viviani, with the recital “Back”", Sunday, March 17, at 8 pm. Taking the title from his latest album, the singer-songwriter will present a repertoire that ranges from his own recordings to great classics of Italian and Neapolitan songwriting. Back It is a pop work with references to the tradition of 1980s singer-songwriters, which looks to the singer-songwriter genre in its original form, that is, the equal fusion of poetry and music. Block thus recounts the wrinkles of a life lived, punctuated by memories, thoughts, and reflections, yet looking to the future. And, amidst disillusionment and hope, nostalgia and lucid analysis, he asserts his right to break free from trends and pursue an artistic path that is both a style and a philosophy of life, rooted in a past that is not old or outdated, as the title might lead one to believe, but rather fuels a creativity without constraints and timelessness. The arrangements unfold between light guitars, at times folk sounds and harmonious keyboards, leaving ample space for the lyrics, a key part of the artist's poetics, in which various musical and textual references emerge: from Paoli to Dalla, from Gaber to Gaetano, from De André to Guccini, quoting Quasimodo and singing Pavese. Special guests of the evening the singer Petra Magoni and the percussionist Paolo Batà Bianconcini. On stage with Giovanni Block (vocals, guitar and flute), Roberto Trenca (acoustic and electric guitar), Pasquale Benincasa (drums and percussion), Vincenzo Lamagna (double bass), Salvatore Torregrossa (piano and accordion), Roberta And Marina Block (choirs) and Copious Rosary (narrating voice). The concert will be opened by the singer-songwriter Cristina Cafiero, accompanied by the guitarist Ernesto Nobili. The production is by WayToBlue production. |
