The President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca has announced his presence at the Naples Pride on June 29th. The President, who has always recognized the value of Pride through the granting of moral patronage by the Campania Region, will participate in the Pride parade for the first time and will be leading the procession with the organizers and other institutions. He will be joined by Councilor Lucia Fortini, always at the forefront of defending the needs and civil rights of LGBTQIA+ people. The presence of the Vice President of the Regional Council, Loredana Raia.

While the Lombardy Region is denying patronage to the Pride, a powerful message is coming to the entire country from the largest region in southern Italy, Naples. I remember De Luca, then Mayor of his city, at Salerno's Pride Park in 2012—Sannino continues—at an event with Mina Welby, but today his presence at the march, along with Lucia Fortini, is a crucial sign of support from democratic institutions in our region. I also remember that, while the Zan bill was being rejected, our Campania Region and President De Luca approved the regional law against homotransphobia.
