A few days ago, the national Arcigay announced its support for the general strike on September 6th:
“We denounce the unfairness of a financial plan that severely restricts labor and workers' rights and accentuates the drastic reduction of welfare in our country, fueling a civil, social, and economic decline that bases social relationships and relations on privileges rather than rights. Arcigay expresses its extreme concern and opposes, culturally, even more than politically, the idea of the country inherent in this plan.
The attack on labor and workers' rights only results in worsening the already precarious working conditions of many Italians. In particular, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender workers will find themselves with increasingly fewer tools to address frequent discrimination, just as will happen to disabled workers, who are affected by Article 9 of the budget.’
