On Monday 18 July 2011, during the programme Estate in Diretta on Rai 1 (starting at 5.15pm), a report will be aired regarding the incidents of homophobia and transphobia that occurred in a high school in the province of Ravenna.
The testimony of the two victims, who reported the incidents through Arcigay Ravenna (the Emilia Romagna Anti-Discrimination Network), will be heard.
Tania Moroni, president of the Ravenna committee, will follow to comment on the matter and to urge the adoption of an anti-bullying and anti-discrimination code of conduct in every school, as has been done in the United Kingdom for years (anti-bullying policy), to guarantee everyone's well-being and right to education. In closing the report, Maura Chiulli, of the National Secretariat of Arcigay, with responsibility for Schools, Youth and Gender Policies, will make a statement regarding the law against homophobia and transphobia, which will be voted on in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday, July 19.
