Culture, politics, and entertainment will be on display at The Social Hub to celebrate Italy's largest LGBTQIA+ organization. The inauguration will feature founders Ramina and Grillini.
Rome, September 18, 2025 – Opening tomorrow in Rome Forty Queer, The three-day event, featuring meetings, culture, music, and mobilization, will tell the story of the largest organization in the Italian LGBTQIA+ movement, with over 70 local chapters across the country. The event will take place at The Social Hub (Viale dello Scalo S. Lorenzo, 10) from September 26 to 28, 2025. The inauguration is scheduled for 6:00 PM with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A community on display, an exhibition on Arcigay's 40-year history, which will be open to the public in the exhibition area for all three days of the event. Following this, at the Fuori! Stage, there will be a meeting entitled "40 Years of History" with Franco Grillini and Beppe Ramina, one of the founders of the national association 40 years ago; Ottavia Voza, the first transgender delegate on Arcigay's national secretariat; and Natascia Maesi, the association's national president. Moderated by Simone Alliva, the program will be introduced by Arcigay's general secretary, Gabriele Piazzoni. At 7:00 p.m., the program continues with the meeting How Homophobia Conquered Africa and the Global South, with Djarah Kan. At 7 pm, the screening of the documentary Repaired – The Church, Homosexuality, and the Violence of Conversion Therapies, produced by the newspaper Domani, which tells the stories of Rosario, Maria Silvia, and Luca, victims of the Church's conversion therapies; speakers include Alessia Arcolaci and Giovanni Tizian. At 9:30 p.m., Fortyqueer Comedy, Stand-up comedy show with Laura Pusceddu, Yoko Yamada, Gabriele Piazza, Matteo Fallica, Serena Bongiovanni, Alessio Marzilli, and Horea Sas; hosted by Silvana della Magliana.
